Sculptural staved teak meets polished brass in this iconic Dansk pair, a warm, mid-century accent that’s as functional as it is collectible. This pair of sculptural staved teak and brass candleholders by Dansk International Designs were produced in the late 1960s to 1970s. Each piece is meticulously crafted from sections of richly grained teak, laminated in a stave construction for strength and visual depth, then finished with a warm, oiled surface. The flared, stepped form is topped with a polished brass insert designed for taper candles. These candleholders reflect the enduring influence of Dansk’s founding designer, Jens Quistgaard, whose organic forms and material-driven designs helped define Scandinavian modern style. Their timeless design, quality craftsmanship, and distinctive staved teak construction make them highly collectible and a thoughtful gift for any mid-century design enthusiast. Marked on the underside: “Dansk International Designs Ltd., IHQ, Malaysia.” Perfect for both functional use and decorative display. Very good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use, including minor traces of candle wax in the brass inserts. 6" diameter and 3" high.
