Striking and symbolically rich, this limited edition print titled “Halibut Man” blends expressive portraiture with Northwest Coast-inspired formline design. Numbered 11 of 60 in pencil at the lower left and dated 1981 at the lower right, it is also inscribed with the printmaking term “imp,” indicating the artist’s direct involvement in the printing process. The artist’s signature is present but illegible. The imagery features the face of an elder rendered in gray-scale drawing, partially dissolving into embossed white halibut forms with bold red and black detailing. The composition suggests transformation and duality, themes often associated with “Halibut Man” in Pacific Northwest coastal mythologies, figures that symbolize humility, ancestry, and spiritual metamorphosis. Professionally framed behind glass in a slim, dark metal frame and wired in the back to hang easily. Very good vintage condition. Minor wear including several small scratches to the frame, consistent with age. The artwork and mat appear mostly clean and undisturbed under glass with minimal imperfections. The frame measures 22.5" wide, 25.75" high, 75" deep.
